Starting over....
So... the dome I built turned out to be a bit out of round...   I only discovered this after i got my new 3d printer with a larger bed (500x500x600).   When I did a print of the lower ring (single print this time) i noticed that the original dome extended beyond  (on one axis) the ring by a full 1/2".. At first I blamed the new printer.. ran all sorts of calibration tests.. all were well within the 1% margin of error (even when I printed a calibration cube at a HUGE size (200mmX200mm), or 10x the normal size... So i did a lot of measuring and yup.. the original dome was the culprit...

So...  after talking with Michael, he convinced me I would be okay printing the dome in one piece (WITHOUT SUPPORTS!  yikes!) on the big printer...

So yea..  looks good.. a couple of drooping lines UNDER the top.. but overall.. a pretty nice print.... and yes.. this time the lower ring matched up to the dome PERFECTLY!
